Scaling the upload pipeline behind a fast-growing Lovable app
Clipflo is a video gallery platform for wedding content creators, built in Lovable by its founder. It took off fast, and its creators were soon uploading far more video than a first version is built for. We rebuilt the upload pipeline for scale and stayed on as Clipflo’s engineering team.

The challenge
Clipflo lets wedding content creators deliver their clients’ videos in beautiful galleries, the way Pic-Time and Pixieset do for photos. Its founder, Sarah, built the whole product in Lovable, with an iOS app on top, and it took off within weeks of launch.
Growth brought a much heavier workload. Creators upload large batches of high-resolution phone videos at a time, on every kind of phone and connection, and the upload pipeline needed to keep up at that scale. That’s where we came in.
What we did
- A fixed-price audit first. Our engineer reviewed the upload flow, the storage and video services, and the logs, and mapped what large batches needed at every step: uploading, assembling, processing and delivering the playable video. Sarah got a plain-English report with a prioritized plan.
- Mobile uploads rebuilt for scale. We rebuilt the pipeline in the iOS app and on the server, then tested large batches of videos across every format, size and quality, with the app in the foreground and background. Every upload succeeded.
- Desktop uploads for very large batches. Automatic session refresh means even the longest uploads finish.
- Built for real-world phones. Files still downloading from iCloud, edited iPhone photos, low-memory devices and dropped connections are all handled, and uploads that finish always appear in the gallery.
- Visibility. An in-app upload log users can share and server-side monitoring, so every issue gets diagnosed from real data instead of guesswork.
- New features. Clients can now save whole galleries straight to Google Drive or Dropbox.
How we worked
Virgil scoped the work and set the plan; one of our senior engineers did the hands-on build and worked directly with Sarah. Every phase started with a fixed-price milestone, every fix shipped to a private test build first, and Sarah got clear explanations at each step, without the jargon.
The result
Uploads that keep up with a growing base of creators, and a long-term partnership: Clipflo now runs on a monthly development and support plan, with a 90-day roadmap covering infrastructure costs and new features. Sarah says Virgil was “so easy to work with and great at communicating and leading the project.”
