POLYOPTIONS.
The first non-custodial options platform on a prediction market
Polyoptions lets traders write options contracts on prediction market outcomes, collateralized by positions they already hold. Nobody had built it before. We architected it and led the team that did.

The challenge
Polyoptions set out to do something new: let people trade options on prediction markets, using their existing market positions as collateral, without ever handing custody of their funds to the platform. That combines a real-time trading venue, smart contracts and a bridge between them, and all of it has to be right.
What we built
Virgil architected the platform and hired and ran a team of specialists, including a smart contract developer, while building the integrations across the stack himself.
- A custom central limit order book for matching options trades
- A real-time trading interface with live charts and instant updates
- The platform core handling accounts, orders and settlement
- A bridge to the blockchain connecting the platform to traders’ on-chain positions
- Smart contracts for non-custodial collateral, built by the specialist we brought in
How we worked
With several specialists working on tightly connected parts, the technical lead role was the job: setting the architecture, defining the contracts between services, reviewing the work and keeping the founders informed with clear, honest updates.
The result
A working, first-of-its-kind options platform, built by a coordinated team under one accountable technical lead.
